Solomon Christopher Thomas, a defensive tackle with the New York Jets of the National Football League, was born on August 26, 1995. In the 2017 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected him third overall after watching him play college football for Stanford University.
Most analysts and scouts predicted that Thomas would be selected in the first round after graduating from Stanford. He declined to participate in any other events at the NFL Scouting Combine other than the bench, 40-yard dash, vertical, and broad jump despite being invited.

Thomas was signed by the San Francisco 49ers on July 28, 2017, to a four-year, $28.14 million contract with a $18.61 million signing bonus that is completely guaranteed. He started 12 of the 14 games he played in as a rookie, finishing with 41 tackles and three sacks.
Thomas’ fifth-year option on his contract was rejected by the 49ers on May 1, 2020, making him a free agent in 2021. Thomas tore his ACL and was out for the remainder of the season during the 49ers’ Week 2 game against the New York Jets.
On March 19, 2021, Thomas agreed to a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. His stats include 34 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and participation in all 17 games.
