As a linebacker with the National Football League’s New York Jets, Marcell Harris plays American football. At Florida, he played collegiate football. He stands 1.83 meters tall and weighs 98 kilograms. Dr. Phillips High School was where he studied. He attended at the University of Florida after finishing high school and played college football there for the Florida Gators squad.
Between 2014 and 2016, he had 102 tackles and two interceptions. He was unable to compete in the 2017 games because of a torn Achilles tendon. The San Francisco 49ers selected Harris in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was placed on injured reserve in September 2018. He was reactivated in November that year.
After being released by the 49ers in August 2019, he was promptly added to the practice squad. In October 2019, he was added to the active roster. Harris forced a fumble and recovered the ball in their Week 13 road loss to the Baltimore Ravens, a game that ended in a close 20-17 score.
After the San Francisco 49ers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV, he agreed to a one-year extension of his contract with the 49ers in March 2021. It was confirmed that Harris would move from strong safety to linebacker at the start of the 2021 NFL season. He signed a contract with the New York Jets in April 2022.
