Clint Mosley Jr., also known by his stage name C. J. Mosley, is a professional football player who lines up as a linebacker for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He is 1.88 m tall and weighs 113 kg. At Theodore High School, he played football, basketball, and track. As a sophomore, he recorded 112 tackles, four sacks, and one interception.
He was the sixth-ranked outside linebacker prospect in a class that also included five-star prospects Christian Jones and Jordan Hicks. He was rated as a four-star recruit by the recruiting website Rivals.com. Following high school, he enrolled at the University of Alabama, where he played NCAA football for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Mosley joined the Crimson Tide as a true freshman in 2010, and the FWAA, Rivals.com, and College Football News all named him a consensus Freshman All-American. During his senior year, he was selected for the Southeastern Conference’s (SEC) first team. The Baltimore Ravens selected him in the opening round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Mosley signed a four-year, $8.87 million contract with the Ravens in May 2014, which included a $4.71 million signing bonus. In March 2019, he signed a five-year, $85 million contract with the New York Jets. He made his Jets debut in Week 1, earning five tackles and intercepting Josh Allen’s pass before returning it for a touchdown.
