Justin attended Glenville High School located in Cleveland, Ohio and played football for the school’s football team. After high school, he enrolled at the University of Illinois where he played college football for the Illinois Fighting Illini football team. Justin Hardee was a three-star prospect out of high school where he racked up a total of 841 yards receiving throughout his entire career.
Undrafted out of college, he was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in May 2017. He was waived on September 2, 2017. That same month, he was signed to the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad. He was promoted by the Saints to the active roster on September 23, 2017.
In March 2020, he re-signed with the Saints and was placed on injured reserve on November 6, 2020 after he suffered a groin injury. He was activated on December 12, 2020. He signed a three-year contract worth $5.25 million with the New York Jets on March 18, 2021.
