Lamarcus Joyner is a safety for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He went on to play college football at Florida State before being picked by the St. Louis Rams in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Prior to that, he had been awarded the 2009 Defensive High School Player of the Year by USA Today.
Joyner is a native of the city of Miami, Florida, and he went to Southwest Miami High School when he was younger. There, he participated in football for three years on the varsity level, playing several positions like a linebacker, defensive back, wide receiver, and kick returner.

They extended their win streak, which had begun in 2007, all the way up to 37 wins, before falling to Manatee High School by a score of 28–20 in the Class 5A state semifinal at Hawkins Stadium in Bradenton, Florida.
