A professional football player with the New York Jets of the National Football League, Kai Nacua (also known as Kaimana Nacua) plays free safety. Kai is 1.83 m tall and 93 kg in weight. He was born to Lionel and Penina Nacua on March 3, 1995, in Las Vegas, Nevada. In Henderson, Nevada, Kai attended Liberty High School.
He attended at Brigham Young University (BYU) after graduating from high school and played NCAA football for the BYU Cougars there. He was selected by the Cleveland Browns in May 2017 as an undrafted free agent. He was let go on September 3, 2017, and the following day he was added to their practice squad. He was included in the roster as of September 8, 2017.
In April 2018, the Browns released Nacua. In May 2018, he was claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Ravens. In December 2018, he joined the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad. He and the Panthers came to terms on a reserve/future contract on December 31, 2018. He was granted his freedom in August of this year.
Nacua joined the San Francisco 49ers practice squad in November 2020, and on December 2 he was elevated to the active roster. In December 2021, the New York Jets signed Nacua after the 49ers dismissed him from the practice squad. On December 25, 2021, he was added to the roster of participants.
