Kaimana Nacua is a member of the New York Jets of the National Football League. He plays as a free safety. He attended Brigham Young University, where he participated in collegiate football.
On May 4, 2017, the Cleveland Browns decided to take a chance on Nacua by signing him as an undrafted free agent.
During the entirety of training camp, he went up against Justin Currie and Trey Caldwell for a position on the active roster. Nacau was released by the Browns on September 3, 2017, and the team then added him to their practice squad the following day.
Nacua was moved from the inactive to the active roster on September 8th, 2017. To begin the regular season, Nacua served as the backup strong safety behind Derrick Kindred. His position was given to him by head coach Hue Jackson.
He played in his first regular-season game as a professional during the Cleveland Browns’ 21-18 season-opening loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. During the game against the Los Angeles Chargers on December 3, 2017, Nacua made his first tackle of his career.
The Chargers won the game 19-10. After Derrick Kindred went down with a wrist injury the week before, Nacua was given the opportunity to make the first start of his professional career in Week 14.
During the game against the Green Bay Packers, in which the Browns were defeated 27-21, Nacua recorded a season-high five solo tackles.
He played in all 16 games and started three of them, finishing the season with 14 total tackles, 12 of which were solo.
On April 30, 2018, the Browns made the decision to release Nacua from their roster.
After spending time on the practice squad for the 49ers, Nacua was offered a contract by the New York Jets on December 23, 2021. On December 25, 2021, he was given a spot on the active roster of the team.
