Gregory Zuerlein is a placekicker for the National Football League’s New York Jets in American football. He was a Lincoln, Nebraska, native who participated in collegiate football at Missouri Western and the University of Nebraska Omaha.
He formerly played for both the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Rams.
Despite spending three seasons at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), Zuerlein missed the 2010 campaign due to a hip injury. In addition to making 19 of 26 field goal attempts, Zuerlein established a school record at UNO by making 61 consecutive PATs.
He transferred to Missouri Western State University in 2011, another member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association when UNO’s football program was shut down in 2011.
There, he made 21 straight field goals, nine of which were longer than 50 yards, including two from 58 yards, setting an NCAA Division II record.
He averaged 10.7 points per game and had a.952 field goal percentage in 2011, which was the greatest of any NCAA player in any division with 12 or more attempts.
Zuerlein joined the New York Jets on a one-year deal on March 26, 2022, after signing a contract with the team
