For the New York Jets of the National Football League, Braden Mann is a professional football player who specializes in punting and kickoffs. He played football for the school’s football team when a student at Cy-Fair High School in Cypress, Texas, where he was coached by former Texas A&M football player Ed Pustejovsky. Mann made 46 of 48 extra points and 7 of 10 field goals as a junior.
He was a member of the Greater Houston Chronicle All-Star squad for 2014. As a senior, he converted 25 of 25 extra points and averaged 45 yards per punt on 41 attempts. He participated in the Under Armour All-America Game after his senior year. He attended at Texas A&M University after high school and played collegiate football there.
During his first two years at Texas A&M, Mann mostly served as the kickoff specialist. He became the 10th unanimous All-American at Texas A&M after receiving recognition from all five NCAA-recognized selectors (AP, AFCA, FWAA, Sporting News, and WCFF). As the best collegiate punter in the country, he also received the Ray Guy Award.
The New York Jets selected him with the 191st overall choice in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Mann accumulated 3,598 total yards that year, with a 43.9 average on his punts. He leads the 2020 NFL in punting yards with 3,598 total yards. He was put on injured reserve in September 2021, and on November 13 of that same year, he was activated.
