Raleigh Webb, a former wide receiver for both Allatoona and Citadel, has signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent.
With this signing, Webb makes history as the first player from the Allatoona Buccaneers football team to join the NFL. The Ravens and The Citadel made the news on Friday. He was present when the team’s rookie minicamp started on Saturday.
Webb, who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 213 pounds, caught 25 passes for 536 yards and three scores for the Bulldogs last year. He had a total of six carries for 102 yards and two scores for the year.
Webb finished his time in the triple-option offence with 85 receptions, 1,864 yards, and 18 touchdowns. In 2019, his best year, he had 30 receptions for 621 yards and 10 touchdowns, good enough for First Team All-Southern Conference honours.
Webb became well-known due to his spectacular performance. In 2019, he caught a touchdown pass for 84 yards against Samford and 73 yards against East Tennessee State.
Webb caught a 91-yard touchdown pass against Furman in 2018, setting a new programme record, but one of his career’s most impressive catches came on a 30-yard pass against Georgia Tech.
