American football tight end Nicholas Ryan Boyle currently plays for the Baltimore Ravens, who are a member of the National Football League. His college football career was spent at Delaware.
It was reported on November 24, 2014, that Boyle would be participating in the 2015 Senior Bowl after he accepted the invitation to do so. He was the first player from Delaware to participate in the Senior Bowl since Joe Flacco in 2008, making him the fourth player from the state overall.
Boyle turned in strong performances at practice all throughout the week leading up to the Senior Bowl, demonstrating to scouts and organizations his flexibility as well as his ability to block and receive passes.
Boyle led all tight ends with two receptions for 31 yards on January 24, 2015, during which he was a part of the North’s victory over the South by a score of 34–13. He was one of the 19 tight ends invited to the NFL combine after he accepted his invitation to participate in the combine.
Boyle was successful in all of the mandatory combine drills as well as positional work. His performance was considered to be below average by the media and pundits due to the fact that he came last in the 40-yard dash among tight ends and lost a few passes while participating in positional drills.
Boyle came in first place in the 60-yard shuttle and the 20-yard shuttle among tight ends. He also finished seventh in the broad jump, ninth in the vertical leap, and tied for fifth in the bench press.
