After injuries to starter left tackle Ronnie Stanley and starting left guard/backup right tackle Tyre Phillips in Week 1, he was named the Ravens’ starting right tackle for the 2021 season.
Alejandro Villanueva, the starting right tackle, switched to the left, making room for Mekari to start the majority of the remaining games of the season at right tackle.Mekari and the Ravens agreed to a three-year contract extension on December 30, 2021.
