Ronnie Stanley participates in American football as an offensive tackle for the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens. He is 1.98 m tall and 143 kg in weight. He participated in football and basketball on the varsity level while attending Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.
From 2012 to 2015, he was a member of the University of Notre Dame’s football team, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In 2012, he participated in two games as a true freshman. He started every one of the 13 games at right tackle as a sophomore in 2013, contributing to an offensive line that allowed just eight sacks and finished second in the FBS for fewest sacks allowed.
He started each of the 13 games he played in as a junior in 2014, surrendering only one sack all season. He made an official announcement to enter the 2016 NFL Draft following his senior year. Stanley was chosen by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He signed a five-year agreement with the Ravens in October 2020, making him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL with a maximum total value of $112.8M.
He suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in November 2020 and had to be helped off the field. After undergoing season-ending ankle surgery in October 2021, he was put on injured reserve.
