Brent Urban, an American football defensive end with the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens, was born in Canada on May 5, 1991. (NFL).
The Baltimore Ravens selected him in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
At Virginia, he played collegiate football.
Urban is the 26th ever Canadian selected in the NFL draft. Before switching to football, Urban was a well-known player on one of the top international hockey teams.
He was a member of the 2006 AAA Mississauga Ice Dogs squad that won the Ontario bantam championship and advanced to international competition at the age of 15, playing with four future NHL draft picks.
Due to his history of injuries, Urban fell to the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round (134th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.
He was a defensive end for a 3-4 defense as a rookie. He tore his ACL during training camp. On August 25, 2014, he was placed on an injured reserve.
Urban tore his biceps muscle at training camp on August 8, 2015, and was put on injured reserve with the intention of returning.
On November 9, he resumed practice. On November 25, 2015, he was formally re-added to the active roster.
Urban signed a one-year contract to play defensive lineman in a 4-3 defense on March 22, 2021, with the Dallas Cowboys. On October 26, he was put on injured reserve.
Urban rejoined the Baltimore Ravens on May 20, 2022. He had previously played for the Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
