Brent Urban plays defensive end for the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens. Urban wears jersey number #68 for the team. He was born on May 5, 1991, and is currently 31 years old.
The Baltimore Ravens drafted Urban in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. At Virginia, he played collegiate football. In an NFL draft, Urban is the 26th Canadian to be chosen.
Urban was a well-known player on one of the top international hockey teams before making the switch to football.
He was one of four future NHL draft picks on the AAA Mississauga Ice Dogs team in 2006 that won the Ontario bantam title and made it to the international stage at the age of 15.
Due to his history of injuries, Urban fell to the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round (134th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was a defensive end for a 3-4 defense as a rookie.
He tore his ACL during training camp. On August 25, 2014, he was placed on an injured reserve.
Urban tore his biceps muscle on August 8, 2015, during training camp. He was put on injured reserve but planned to come back.
He resumed training on November 9. On November 25, 2015, he was formally added to the active roster. Urban inked a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys on March 22, 2021, to play defensive end in a 4-3 formation.
On October 26, he was put on injured reserve. Urban rejoined the Baltimore Ravens on May 20, 2022. In the past, he had played for the Tennessee Titans, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and Chicago Bears.
