Brent Urban continues to play defensive end for the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens. Urban wears jersey number #68 for the team. He is currently 31 years old and was born on May 5, 1991.
Urban was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He participated in collegiate football at Virginia. Urban is the 26th Canadian to be selected in an NFL draft.
Urban was a well-known player on one of the top international hockey teams before making the switch to football.
He was one of four future NHL draft picks on the AAA Mississauga Ice Dogs team in 2006 that won the Ontario bantam title and made it to the international stage at the age of 15.
Due to his history of injuries, Urban fell to the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round (134th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was a defensive end for a 3-4 defense as a rookie.
On October 26, he was put on injured reserve. Urban rejoined the Baltimore Ravens on May 20, 2022. In the past, he had played for the Tennessee Titans, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and Chicago Bears.
Meet Ann and Vic
Urban was up in Mississauga and was a two-time high school all-star for the Toronto Star.
His parents Ann and Vic own and operate a graphic design firm in Oakville.
Brent Urban’s mother refers to her son as the “unknown” Canadian football star because he is expected to be selected in the second or third round of the NFL draft but has received little attention north of the border.
In order to be with Urban for the draft, his parents had driven to Virginia.
