Aaron Crawford is a nose tackle for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League.
Crawford was a student at Virginia’s Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn. His contributions as a sophomore helped his club advance all the way to the championship game of the Virginia AAA Division 5 in 2012.
Crawford, who was rated as a three-star talent by 247 Sports, decided to go with North Carolina despite receiving offers from both Virginia and Boston College.
After only playing in two games as a true freshman, Crawford had to take a redshirt due to a knee injury that kept him out of action. As a redshirt freshman for North Carolina, he started 10 games for the Tar Heels.
During his sophomore season, he started all 12 games and finished with 29 tackles, including 5.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, and a fumble recovery. He also had a fumble recovery.
As a junior, Crawford suffered a torn PCL and a sprained MCL while participating in preseason camp.
He was only able to play a limited role and wore a knee brace when he returned on October 13, 2018, but he did manage to play in his second and final game of the season on October 27.
Crawford only made one tackle between the two games, and he considered that stretch as the most difficult in his career. Following the completion of the season, Head Coach Larry Fedora was fired.
In 2019, Crawford was a senior and played in all 13 games, starting all of them. He finished with 50 tackles, and three sacks, and tied for second place on the team with 9.0 tackles for loss.
