Defensive tackle Rayshad Nichols competes in professional football for the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens squad. He is 1.88 m tall and 138 kg in weight. He attended Higgins High School for his high school education and played fullback, defensive end, and defensive tackle there during his playing days. He was chosen for the first team all-district two times.
He had 54 tackles in his senior season, including 35 solo stops and 8.0 tackles for loss. In his junior year, he recorded 70 tackles, including 35 solo tackles and 7.0 tackles for loss. He attended at Stephen F State University after graduating from high school and played collegiate football for the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks team there.
He redshirted his true freshman year in 2016. As a redshirt freshman in 2017, he started every game of the season and only one of two to start every game on SFA’s defensive front line. He registered 36 total tackles on the year, including 11 solo stops. He made his collegiate debut in the season opener at SMU that season.
In 2018, as a Sophomore, he was the only defensive lineman to start all 10 games of the season. At the end of the season, he claimed the second-most sacks (3.5) on the team and tied for the third-most tackles for loss (5.0). He also tied for the most forced fumbles (2) and quarterback hurries among all SFA defenders. He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in the 2022 NFL Draft.
