The Atlanta Falcons announced on Wednesday that they have reached an agreement with defensive end Steven Means regarding a contract extension for one additional year.

After being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles early in the season, Means, who is now 28 years old, was signed by the Atlanta Falcons.

In the 2018 season, Means started four of the eight games he played for Atlanta. At the end of the season, he had a total of 14 tackles, including three tackles for a loss and one sack.

In the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Means was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to join their roster. The Buccaneers waived the 6-foot-3, 263-pound defensive end early in his second NFL season, and he subsequently signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

 Means signed a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016, and he played for the team for two seasons before moving on to the Atlanta Falcons.

Means has compiled a total of 26 tackles, five tackles for a loss, three sacks, and one forced fumble over the course of his career spanning five years.
