Armour-Davis will be working with returning veterans Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters, and the Ravens’ lack of depth at the position could force him onto the field sooner rather than later.
Although Davis had to wait for his chance to play, he eventually started 11 games as a junior and ended his time at Alabama with 32 tackles, seven pass deflections, and three interceptions. He has more experience and maturity than most cornerbacks due to his time at Alabama.
Armour-Davis is also the first player from the University of Alabama to be drafted by the team since Eric DeCosta replaced Ozzie Newsome as general manager.
Armour-Davis appears to have similar features on paper. At 6 feet and 197 pounds, he’s a solid physical specimen. Additionally, he completed the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds.
Since the Ravens frequently use press coverage, Armour-Davis is able to showcase his physical playstyle and skill in this setting.
In high school, Armour-Davis excelled on the track team at St. Paul’s in Mobile, Alabama.
He won the Class 5A 100-meter dash (10.87) and triple jump (44.55) events. He ran the 100-meter dash in 10.72 seconds and the 200 in 22.77 seconds, both of which were personal bests.
Armour-Davis, however, was a major four-star recruit in 2018, ranking second in Alabama only to wide receiver Justyn Ross.
