Marcus Peters is a professional football player who competes for the National Football League. For the Baltimore Ravens, he plays cornerback. He played football when a student at McClymonds High School in Oakland, California. He scored six touchdowns on kickoff or punt returns and had seven interceptions as a senior. He was a wide receiver and a kicker. He received the Oakland Athletic League MVP award.
From 2011 through 2014, he played football for the Washington Huskies of the University of Washington. Peters redshirted in 2011 as a freshman. He started eight of the 13 games he played in as a redshirt freshman in 2012, compiling 44 tackles, three interceptions, and a score. As a sophomore, he started 12 of 13 games.
In addition, he recorded 55 tackles, 1 sack, and 5 interceptions. Peters was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He and the Kansas City Chiefs reached an agreement on a fully guaranteed $4-year, $9.58-million contract on May 15, 2015, which also includes a $5.23-million signing bonus. The Los Angeles Rams acquired him from the Kansas City Chiefs at the NFL Draft in March 2018.
He was dealt to the Baltimore Ravens on October 15, 2019. A three-year, $42 million contract was agreed upon by Peters and the Ravens on December 28. Peters tore his ACL during practice on September 8, 2021. He was put on injured reserve the next day.
