One of the National Football League’s professional football players is Marcus Peters. He represents the Baltimore Ravens as a cornerback. He played football when a student at McClymonds High School in Oakland, California. He had six touchdowns on kickoff or punt returns and seven interceptions as a senior. He received the Oakland Athletic League MVP award. From 2011 to 2014, he was a member of the University of Washington’s Washington Huskies football team. Peters redshirted in 2011 as a freshman. He started eight out of the 13 games he played in as a redshirt freshman in 2012, compiling 44 tackles, three interceptions, and a score. In 2013, as a sophomore, he started 12 of 13 games and had five interceptions, 55 tackles and one sack.
Peters was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He signed a fully guaranteed four-year, $9.58 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs on May 15, 2015, which also included a $5.23 million signing bonus. He was traded by the Kansas City Chiefs to the Los Angeles Rams in March 2018 during the NFL Draft.
He was traded to the Baltimore Ravens on October 15, 2019. Peters and the Ravens agreed to a three-year, $42 million contract deal on December 28. Peters tore his ACL during practice on September 8, 2021, and was put on injured reserve the next day.
