Ar’Darius Washington currently plays the safety position for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League. He attended TCU for his college football career.
Washington went to Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana, and was a standout cornerback for the school’s Eagles football team during his time there.
Before he started his senior year of high school, he made a promise to play college football at LSU. However, he later changed his mind and played for Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
While Washington was a first-year student at TCU in 2018, he made the switch to safety and participated in four games for the TCU Horned Frogs. This allowed him to save his redshirt for the following season.
He had a breakout season as a redshirt freshman in 2019, becoming a starter late in the year and leading the team in interceptions with five. This was the most by any rookie under coach Gary Patterson’s tenure at TCU, and it was the most interceptions by a freshman overall.
After the conclusion of the season, the Football Writers Association of America voted him as the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year and also selected him as a Freshman All-American.
On May 13, 2021, Washington became a member of the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent after signing with the team. Washington suffered a season-ending foot injury on November 27, 2021, and was placed on injured reserve.
