Marcus Alan Williams, a free safety with the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens, was born on September 8, 1996. (NFL). At Utah, he played collegiate football.
In Eastvale, California, Williams attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School. He was a defensive back and wide receiver for the Mustangs’ football team. He participated in track and basketball as well.
He turned down competing scholarship offers from Washington and California in favor of committing to play college football at the University of Utah.
Williams participated in all 13 of Utah’s games in 2014 as a true freshman, starting six of them. He had 59 tackles and an interception at the end of the 2014 campaign.
He earned first-team All-Pac-12 as a sophomore in 2015 after compiling 65 tackles and five interceptions in 13 starts.
Williams accepted a request to participate in the NFL Combine and finished every drill.
He also participated in Utah’s Pro Day but decided to limit his activities to positional exercises for team representatives and scouts.
He was expected to be chosen in the second or third round of the NFL draft, according to experts and commentators.
Williams was chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was chosen as the sixth safety in 2017.
Williams agreed to a five-year, $70 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens on March 16, 2022.
