Marcus Williams, real name Marcus Alan Williams, is a professional football player for the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens. He was playing free safety. He is 88 kg and 1.85 meters tall. While attending Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, California, he participated in football as a wide receiver and defensive back for the Mustangs.
After turning down competing scholarship offers from Washington and California, he chose to play college football at the University of Utah. He played in football contests for the Utah Utes. He participated in each game during his first season at Utah in 2014, making six starts. He was nominated to the Pac-12’s first team in 2015 with 13 starts, 65 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 65 total tackles.
He had 188 total tackles and 11 interceptions by the time he finished his college career. Many sports journalists and mock drafts expected that he would be selected in the first or second round. He was chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was chosen as the sixth safety in 2017.
He signed a four-year, $6.24 million contract with the New Orleans Saints in June 2017, which included a $2.67 million signing bonus and a $3.42 million guarantee. In March 2021, Williams was given the franchise tag by the Saints. On March 30, 2021, he acknowledged the one-year tender. Williams and the Baltimore Ravens signed a five-year, $70 million contract in March 2022.
