Marcus Williams, also known as Marcus Alan Williams, is a professional football player for the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens. He plays free safety. He is 88 kilograms and 1.85 meters tall. He participated in football for the Mustangs as a wide receiver and defensive back while attending Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, California.
He turned down competing scholarship offers from Washington and California in favor of committing to play college football at the University of Utah. He participated in football with the Utah Utes. He participated in every game of his first season at Utah in 2014, making six starts. He earned first team All-Pac-12 honors in 2015 after making 13 starts and totaling 65 tackles and 5 interceptions.
With 188 total tackles and 11 interceptions, he completed his college career. He was expected to be selected in the first or second round by many sportswriters and mock drafts. He was chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was chosen as the sixth safety in 2017.
He signed a four-year, $6.24 million contract with the New Orleans Saints in June 2017, which included a $2.67 million signing bonus and a $3.42 million guarantee. The Saints gave Williams the franchise tag in March 2021. On March 30, 2021, he signed the one-year tender. Williams agreed to a five-year, $70 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens in March 2022.
