In the 2019 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals selected Allen with the 65th overall pick in the third round.
After the conclusion of training camp, it was decided that Allen would begin the season as a starting defensive end.
Allen made his debut with the Cardinals during Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season against the Detroit Lions. Allen was responsible for three solo tackles throughout the course of the game.
Before sustaining a neck injury in Week 4, he participated in the first four games of the season. Following those six games, on November 13, 2019, he was placed on injured reserve and never returned to the lineup.
During the game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 (a win by the score of 24–20), Allen recorded his first sack of his career on Jimmy Garoppolo.
On October 27, 2020, he was transferred to the injured reserve status. The date of his activation was the 28th of November, 2020. Allen led the club with 11 tackles in their Week 15 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, which they won 33–26.
