Defensive tackle Zachary William-Jacob Allen plays for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals. Allen played football while he was a student at Boston College.

Allen participated in all 12 of the team’s regular-season games during his rookie year in 2015, mostly serving as a member of the special teams unit. He was a member of the special teams for 66 plays and the defensive end position for 46 plays.

Allen made his college debut against Maine in the first game of the season and recorded one solo tackle and one assisted tackle against Howard in that game. 



Allen played in 13 games in 2016, including the Quick Lane Bowl, and made one start, which was against Georgia Tech in Dublin. During the course of the season, Allen was responsible for a total of 36 tackles, including 19 solo stops, 17 assisted stops, and 6.0 sacks.

He finished the year with four pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. Allen had a significant impact on the victory over the Maryland Terrapins that took place in the 2016 Quick Lane Bowl. He set a single-game career best with two sacks that resulted in a loss of 15 yards, in addition to recording two solo tackles.
