Outside linebacker Markus Golden competes in American football for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals. He is 1.91 meters tall. He measures 117 kilograms. He played football at Affton High School, where he was enrolled. He ran for 2,264 yards and 30 touchdowns as a senior, along with 108 tackles and 10 sacks.
During his first year, he participated in the Hutchinson Community College football program. He recorded 90 tackles, including 10 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, two interceptions, and five of the latter. He continued to play football for the Missouri Tigers football team after transferring to the University of Missouri. In the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals selected Golden.
He was given a four-year, $3.91 million contract by the Cardinals in May 2015, which included a $1.10 million signing bonus and a guarantee of $1.72 million. He agreed to a one-year contract worth $3,750,000 with the New York Giants in March 2019. The Giants tendered him as an unrestricted free agent in April 2020. He joined the Arizona Cardinals once again in October of 2020. Golden and the Cardinals agreed to a two-year deal in March 2021.
He started the season alongside Chandler Jones as a pass rusher. He had 48 tackles, four forced fumbles, and led the team with 11.0 sacks throughout his 16 games played, five of which he started. He extended his contract with the Cardinals for another year on September 9, 2022.
