Josh Jones, also known as Joshua Jones, is an American football player who currently competes for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League as an offensive tackle. He is 2.01 m tall and 141 kg in weight. He played football and basketball while he was a student at George Bush High School. As a sophomore, he was selected to the All-District 23-5A second team, and as a junior and senior, he was selected to the first team.
He was a three-star recruit right out of high school. Prior to National Signing Day, he decommitted from Oklahoma State, where he had previously committed to play college football. He then declared his intention to enroll at the University of Houston.
He participated in football for the Houston Cougars while attending Houston. During his true freshman year, he redshirted. As a redshirt freshman, he started all 13 of the Cougars’ games. The following year, he started ten games, missing two because of a knee injury. As a junior redshirt, he once more started all 13 of Houston’s games.
He started nine games as left tackle as a redshirt senior and was chosen to the second team of the American Athletic Conference. Jones received an invitation to compete in the 2020 Senior Bowl after the season ended. In the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals selected him with the 72nd overall pick.
