In preparation for the 2022 season, the Arizona Cardinals have signed a new player to their squad. There was no public announcement of the change on Wednesday, but the NFL transaction report stated that defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter had been signed to a “futures” deal for 2022.
During the 2021 season, Ledbetter was a member of the Cardinals’ practice squad.
The defensive lineman, who is 6-4 and weighs 280 pounds, was added to the practice squad in September and was eventually promoted to feature in one game during the previous season.
After participating in 10 defensive snaps in that game, he was placed on the practice squad for the remainder of the season.
In 2019, Ledbetter made his debut in the league as an undrafted rookie after graduating from Georgia. His sole previous appearance in the NFL came in 2019 when he started one game for the Miami Dolphins. During that game, he recorded a total of four tackles and a half-sack.
This offseason, the Arizona Cardinals have signed a total of 17 players to “future” contracts.
