For the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League, Isaiah Simmons is a professional football player who lines up as an inside linebacker. At 1.93 m tall and 108 kg, he is also quite tall. Attended Olathe North High School, where he played football in high school. During his time at Clemson University, he participated in college football for the Clemson Tigers.
He participated in 14 games in 2017, earning 49 tackles and one sack, after redshirting his first season at Clemson in 2016. For his efforts throughout the 2019 season, he won the Butkus Award as the finest linebacker in the country. His degree in sports communication was awarded to him that year.
During his time at Clemson, his ability to play linebacker, defensive end, cornerback, and safety gave him a reputation for positional versatility. At the 2020 NFL Combine, he set a record for all linebackers with a time of 4.39 seconds for the 40-yard dash. He was chosen as one of 58 players for the 2020 NFL Draft, which essentially occurred as a result of laws enforcing social division brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Arizona Cardinals chose him there with the eighth overall choice. Simmons will serve as the inside linebacker’s starting position in 2021. He started all 17 games, finished third on the team with 105 tackles, 1.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and seven passes deflected.
