Nick Vigil, a linebacker, was placed on the injured reserve list, the Arizona Cardinals reported on 8th September 2022.
Vigil, 29, made his debut with the Cardinals this year after signing a contract with Arizona in March 2022. Vigil has divided his time between special teams and defense so far this season.
However, Nick Vigil had to leave Week 4 early because of a hamstring injury following a blocked pass and a few tackles. Vigil will now be out for a minimum of four weeks.
The injury information was made public by the Cardinals this afternoon along with a few other roster changes.
Nick Vigil was born on August 20, 1993, he is an American football linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Utah State, and was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Los Angeles Chargers and Minnesota Vikings.
Vigil attended the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis and completed the majority of combine drills, but chose to skip the bench press due to a pectoral injury. Vigil finished first among all linebackers participating at the NFL Combine in the short shuttle and three-cone drill while finishing tenth in the 40-yard dash.
On April 6, 2016, he participated in Utah State’s pro day and opted to stand on the majority of combined numbers. Vigil performed the bench press and improved his times in the 40-yard dash (4.65s), 20-yard dash (2.70s), and 10-yard dash (1.58s).
He conducted a private workout with the Atlanta Falcons and attended pre-draft visits with the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears. At the conclusion of the pre-draft process, Vigil was projected to be a fifth or sixth-round pick by NFL draft experts and scouts.
After becoming a free agent again following the 2020 season, Vigil signed a one-year contract worth up to $2.25 million with the Minnesota Vikings on April 6, 2021. He played in 16 games with 12 starts, finishing fourth on the team with 85 tackles.
On March 22, 2022, Vigil signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals. He was placed on injured reserve on October 8.
