Marquis Hayes, an American football player, is an offensive tackle for the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals. He is 1.96 m tall and 147 kg in weight. He was raised in Saint Louis, Missouri, and went to Pattonville High School, where he started playing football in his junior year.
He was a four-star prospect who accepted a football scholarship to play for the University of Oklahoma’s Oklahoma Sooners. As an actual freshman at Oklahoma, he redshirted that season. During his first season, he redshirted and participated in three games as a backup offensive tackle.
He began each of Oklahoma’s 13 games at left guard for the Sooners following his redshirt sophomore season. During the 2020 season, which was cut short by COVID-19, he switched to right guard and started 11 games for the Sooners. He debated going into the 2021 NFL Draft before deciding to return to Oklahoma for his redshirt senior year.
Hayes announced his intention to enter the 2022 NFL Draft after the season ended. The Arizona Cardinals selected him with the 257th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2022 Draft. On August 30, 2022, he was added to the injury reserve list.
