Marquis Hayes is a professional American football player who plays offensive guard for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. His height and weight are 1.96 m and 147 kg, respectively. He attended Pattonville High School, where he started playing football in his junior year, and was born and reared in Saint Louis, Missouri.
He was rated as a four-star prospect and accepted a collegiate football scholarship to play for the University of Oklahoma’s Oklahoma Sooners football team. He redshirted his first year at Oklahoma as a true freshman. He redshirted his freshman season and played as a backup offensive lineman in three games.
After his redshirt sophomore season, he started each of Oklahoma’s 13 games at left guard for the Sooners. He converted to right guard and made 11 starts for the Sooners during the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season. Before electing to return to Oklahoma for his redshirt senior year, he pondered entering the NFL Draft in 2021.
Following the conclusion of the season, Hayes declared he would participate in the 2022 NFL Draft. In the seventh round of the 2022 Draft, the Arizona Cardinals picked him with the 257th overall pick. He was added to the reserve injury list on August 30, 2022.
