Marquis Hayes is a professional football player with the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. He fulfills the tasks of an offensive guard for the Cardinals. He is 147 kg in weight and 1.96 meters tall. During his junior and senior years at Pattonville High School in Maryland Heights, Missouri, he played football.
Despite receiving offers from other colleges, he decided to play college football at Oklahoma despite being a four-star prospect right out of high school. He played collegiate football for the Oklahoma Sooners from 2017 to 2021. He redshirted his true rookie year at Oklahoma. As a redshirt freshman in 2018, he played three games as a backup offensive tackle.
He started all 13 of Oklahoma’s games as a redshirt sophomore while switching from being the Sooners’ backup left guard. When the 2020 Sooners’ season was cut short by COVID-19, he switched to right guard and started 11 games. He started all 13 of Oklahoma’s games as a redshirt senior, switching back to left guard.
He announced that he would be participating in the NFL Draft in 2022 once the season ended. As the 257th overall pick in the 2022 Draft, Hayes was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the seventh round. At midnight on August 30, 2022, he was put on injured reserve.
