American football safety Josh Thomas plays for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. At 1.83 meters tall, he weighs 93 kg. He earned All-State recognition while a student at The Montgomery Academy by participating in football twice and basketball four times. He took part in college football for the Mountaineers while a student at Appalachian State University.
In his senior season, he recorded a career-high 72 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one interception return for a touchdown of 16 yards, one fumble recovery for 37 yards, and one tackle for loss of one. He was twice the team captain during his time in college. 30 of his 56 games were starts for him.
The Buffalo Bills signed Thomas as an undrafted free agent in May of 2020 after he was not selected in the NFL Draft. As part of the final roster cuts on September 5, 2020, he was discharged. He joined the practice squad of the team the next day. He was added to the roster’s active section in October 2021. On August 31, 2021, the Bills once more released him. Later that day, the practice squad did too.
After the Buffalo Bills were defeated in the divisional round of the 2021 playoffs, Thomas agreed to a reserve/future contract in January 2022. His release occurred on August 29, 2022. He joined the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad on September 1, 2022.
