Casey Hayward Jr. participates in American football as a cornerback for the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons. He stands 1.80 meters tall and weighs 87 kilograms. He went to Perry High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, and track as a three-sport athlete. He attended Vanderbilt University after graduating from high school, where from 2008 to 2011 he played college football for the Vanderbilt Commodores.
He started playing during his first year and eventually switched to cornerback. With 15 interceptions in his final year as a Vanderbilt Commodore, he tied the school record. The third-highest single-season total by a Vanderbilt player was achieved by him, who also made 62 tackles and had seven interceptions. Sports Illustrated recognized him as an All-American midseason.
He became the first Vanderbilt All-American in four years when, at the conclusion of the season, he was selected to the Walter Camp Foundation’s second team. During the 2012 NFL Draft’s second round, the Green Bay Packers selected Hayward. During the Green Bay Packers’ season-opening game against the San Francisco 49ers, he played his first regular-season game in the industry.
He was offered a three-year deal by the San Diego Chargers in March 2016. For his efforts during Week 1 of 2020, he was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. He was discharged from the Chargers in March 2021. On May 4, 2021, he agreed to join the Las Vegas Raiders. He committed to the Atlanta Falcons for two years and $11 million in March 2022.
