Germain Ifedi, a Houston native, went to Westside High School and participated in football, basketball, and track as a three-sport athlete.
Ifedi, born on June 2, 1994, plays offensive lineman for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League in American football (NFL). He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft after playing college football for Texas A&M.
The Associated Press named him to their second team All-State. As a senior, he blocked a kick and recorded 96 pancakes. With a record of 10-4, the Westside Wolves were defeated by Dekaney in the UIL 5A Division II Regional Final.

Ifedi started all 13 regular-season games on the offensive line in 2013 at Right Guard after redshirting in his first season at Texas A&M. The offensive line for the Aggies, which also featured tackles Jake Matthews and Cedric Ogbuehi, blocked for a team that had a top-10 offense in the country in terms of scoring, passing, and overall output.
Johnny Manziel, the team’s leading rusher with 759 yards, completed 69 percent of his throws this season for 4,114 yards and 37 touchdowns. Ifedi was selected a Freshman All-American by Sporting News following the season.
