DeAngelo Malone is an outside linebacker with the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL. His height is 1.93 m, and his weight is 109 kg. He attended Martin Luther King Jr. High School before transferring to Cedar Grove High School. He committed to play college football for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Western Kentucky University after graduating high school and was regarded as a three-star prospect.
He made 25 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and five quarterback hurries as a freshman. He finished the season as a sophomore with 60 tackles, nine tackles for loss, six sacks, eight quarterback hurries, and two forced fumbles. He was named honorable mention All-Conference USA.
He recorded 99 total tackles during his junior season and was ranked fourth in the country. In addition, he recorded 16 quarterback hurries, 16.5 sacks, 11.5 sacks, a fumble recovery returned for a score, and was 12th in the country in quarterback hurries. In 2019 and 2021, he was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Conference USA.
He was also selected as the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year for the upcoming season, and ESPN ranked him as one of the top five outside linebacker prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft. Malone was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the 82nd overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
