According to an announcement made by the Falcons on Tuesday afternoon, Desmond Ridder has signed his rookie contract.
The graduate of the University of Cincinnati signed a four-year contract that will give him a salary commensurate with his position as the 74th overall choice in this year’s NFL Draft, as determined by the rookie wage scale.
Ridder is the final draft pick for the Falcons to sign his contract, and he did so approximately one week before training camp was scheduled to begin.
This summer, it is anticipated that Ridder will battle with Marcus Mariota for the opportunity to be the starting quarterback for the team.
Ridder was the second quarterback taken in the NFL Draft, and now that the organization has parted ways with Matt Ryan, the team will give Ridder the opportunity to demonstrate that he is a long-term option at the quarterback position.
How Much Does Desmond Ridder Make?
The average salary for Desmond Ridder is $1,340,740 per year. Ridder will get a base salary of $705,000 and a signing bonus of $1,080,336 in 2022. He will also have a cap hit of $975,084 and a dead cap value of $1,080,336.
