A.J. Terrell was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The young cornerback is currently in his third season with the organization.
Terrell started off his career at Westlake High School in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a two-way player and played as a cornerback and wide receiver.
Terrel was rated as a five-star recruit coming out of high school and was featured in the Under Armour All-America Game in 2017.
After his high school,Terrel attend the Clemson University and played for the Clemson Tigers from (2017–2019).
Terrell participated in 14 games during his first year as a true freshman at Clemson in 2017, tallying 15 tackles and one interception. In 2018, he was a sophomore and started all 15 games, finishing with 53 tackles, three interceptions, and a touchdown.
In addition, he scored a touchdown. During the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship, he scored a touchdown against the Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa by returning an interception 44 yards for a score.
In 2019, Terrell was back in the starting lineup for his junior season. After having a junior year in which he was selected to the first team All-ACC, Terrell made the decision to skip his senior year of college football and instead declare for the NFL Draft in 2020.
