Olamide Zaccheaus is currently in his fourth season with the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL. He started off his football career at St. Joseph’s Preparatory.
After high school, he enrolled at the University of Virginia and played for the Virginia Cavaliers for four seasons.
Zaccheaus caught 85 passes for 895 yards and five touchdowns, earning him a spot on the second team of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
Zaccheaus was named to the first team of the All-ACC after finishing his senior year as the leader of the Atlantic Coast Conference with 93 receptions, 1,058 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns.
With 12 receptions for 100 yards and three touchdowns in the 2018 Belk Bowl, his final game as a Cavalier, he was voted the game’s Most Valuable Player. Zaccheaus completed his collegiate career with 250 receptions for 2,753 yards and 22 touchdowns.
In addition, he rushed the ball 79 times for 551 yards and two touchdowns. He appeared in 50 games during his collegiate career.
Zaccheaus made his first reception in the National Football League on December 8, 2019, when the Atlanta Falcons defeated the Carolina Panthers by a score of 40–20.
The pass, which was a touchdown and went for 93 yards, was thrown by Matt Ryan. It was the third-longest reception in the history of the franchise, and it set an NFL record for the longest first catch.
Zaccheaus returned a fumble for a score in the final seconds of a 29-22 triumph in Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers.
