FitzPatrick spent his childhood in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also received his high school education at Marist.
The University of Georgia received his commitment to play collegiate football over offers from Alabama, UCLA, and Virginia. He received a rating of three stars as a prospect.
During his first year as a true freshman, FitzPatrick wore a red shirt. During his redshirt sophomore season, he hauled in ten passes for a total of 95 yards and one touchdown.
During his redshirt junior season, FitzPatrick participated in all 15 of Georgia’s games, making seven starts. He caught six catches for 83 yards as the Bulldogs won the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship. FitzPatrick was named to the All-CFP First Team.
