Deion Jones plays linebacker for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League in American football. He attended Louisiana State University (LSU) during his collegiate football career before being taken by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
It was revealed on December 8, 2015, that Jones had accepted his invitation to compete in the 2016 Senior Bowl. Jones participated in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on January 30, 2016, and his six combined tackles helped Gus Bradley’s South squad, led by the Jacksonville Jaguars, defeat the North 27-16.
Jones won the NFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 7 after compiling 15 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack in a 30-28 victory over the Dolphins.
Jones was added to the injured reserve list on September 1, 2022. The Falcons traded Jones and the Falcons’ seventh-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to the Cleveland Browns on October 10, 2022, in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round pick.
Meet Tahonas Jones and Cal Jones
Tahonas Jones and Cal Jones, Deion’s parents, welcomed him into the world in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States. Jones’s father gave him the nickname “Debo,” which is a combination of Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson.
The Jones family refers to their Algiers home as “the family home.” It’s where the immediate and extended family frequently gathers, as it was on Tuesday night for a party in advance of Super Bowl 51.
Although Deion’s parents believed he had the ability to succeed in the NFL and on its largest stage, they also emphasized the value of hard effort both on and off the field.
