Defensive end with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League, Amaré Barno is a well-known professional football player. At 1.98 m tall and 111 kg, he is also quite tall. As a safety, he participated in football for Westwood High School. After being unable to play football for Division I due to his academic standing, he enrolled at Butler Community College and played for the Butler Grizzlies.
He was moved from safety to linebacker by the Butler Grizzlies’ coaches while he was playing there. As a sophomore, he recorded 6.5 sacks, 14 stops for a loss, and 66 stops overall. In 2018, Virginia Tech received his transfer pledge. At Virginia Tech, he continued playing football for the Hokies.

In 2021, he registered 3.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss. He announced his intention to enter the 2022 NFL Draft after the season ended and ran the fastest 40-yard sprint time of any linebacker that year at the NFL combine with a time of 4.37. In the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, with the 189th overall pick, Barno was selected by the Carolina Panthers.
