Josh Ball is an offensive tackle in the National Football League who plays for the Dallas Cowboys. He is 140 kg and 2.01 m tall. He was a senior football player at left tackle at Stafford Senior High School. He was recognized as All-State and All-Conference. He signed a collegiate football commitment with Florida State University as a four-star prospect just out of high school.
He participated in football for the Florida State Seminoles at Florida State. He attended Florida for a year before transferring to Butler Community College (BCC), where he was selected as the left tackle starter. Instead of going back to Florida State University in 2019, he made the decision to transfer to Marshall University.
His time at Marshall University was spent playing NCAA football for the Marshall Thundering Herd. He was disqualified from the Conference USA Championship Game against the University of Alabama in Birmingham because of two personal fouls. In favor of starting his NFL Draft preparations, he decided not to take part in the 2020 Camellia Bowl.
He won first-team All-Conference USA recognition following the season. Due to a positive COVID-19 pandemic virus, SARS-CoV-2, test, he was forced to miss the 2021 Hula Bowl. In the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Ball was selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 138th overall choice. He executed his first-year contract on May 20, 2021.
