For the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League, Anthony Barr is a professional football player who lines up as an outside linebacker. At 1.96 m tall and 117 kg, he is also quite tall. He played track and football when a student at Loyola High School. Having rushed for 1,890 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior, he was chosen as an All-State running back for the Loyola Cubs football team.
He received scholarship offers from numerous institutions, but he ultimately decided to attend UCLA in January 2010 after comparing Notre Dame and other schools’ offers. For the UCLA Bruins football team, he participated in collegiate football. The Lott IMPACT Award was given to him for his team-high 10 sacks for 66 yards.
His selection to the USA Today first team All-American in December 2013 made him the first UCLA player to receive this award since Kai Forbath. In the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the ninth overall pick went to the Minnesota Vikings, who selected Barr. During the 2018 Pro Bowl, he was selected for a record-tying fourth time. He had 55 tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble in his 13 games played during the season.
He was inactive for four days after the Vikings put him on the reserve/COVID-19 list on July 30, 2020. He suffered a pectoral muscle tear in Week 2, and in September 2020, he was placed on injured reserve. On August 3, 2022, Barr agreed to terms and became a Dallas Cowboy.
