Anthony Barr is a professional football player who competes for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League as an outside linebacker. His height is 1.96 m, and his weight is 117 kg. He competed in football and track at Loyola High School. He rushed for 1,890 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior, earning him an All-State recognition at running back for the Loyola Cubs football team.
He received scholarship offers from numerous universities, and after settling on Notre Dame and UCLA, he made his decision in January 2010. He participated in college football with the UCLA Bruins. He received the Lott IMPACT Award and led the team with 10 sacks for 66 yards.
In December 2013, when he was selected to the USA Today first team All-American, he became the first UCLA player to receive this award since Kai Forbath. With the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings picked Barr. In 2018, he was chosen to play in his fourth straight Pro Bowl.
He finished the season in 13 games with 55 tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble. On July 30, 2020, the Vikings placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He was then activated four days later. In Week 2, he tore his pectoral muscle. He was placed on injured reserve in September 2020. On August 3, 2022, Barr agreed to a deal with the Dallas Cowboys.
