Malik Hooker, a safety for the Dallas Cowboys is in his fifth season as an NFL player and his second as a Cowboy. After Hooker graduated from college, it was found that he had surgery for a sports hernia and a hip labrum tear. He underwent two procedures in February 2017 to treat a hernia and a torn labrum.
Although he was there at the NFL Scouting Combine, he was unable to take part in any of the exercises. He was ranked the second-best safety in the draft and selected by the Indianapolis Colts selected Hooker in the first round (15th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Hooker inked a four-year, $12.59 million contract with the Colts that was fully guaranteed and includes a $2.29 million signing bonus. He spent the next four seasons with the colts before signing with the Cowboys.
Hooker was able to avoid injury and participate in a total of 15 games, during which he tallied 44 tackles and one interception.
The Cowboys and Hooker extended their relationship by signing a new two-year contract on March 15, 2022.
